Partner/ Chartered Accountant/ Financial Planner/JP
Tony is a Qualified Chartered Accountant with over 20 years experience in the accounting field, uniquely advising in all facets of small to medium enterprise, ensuring that clients goals and objectives are looked at holistically. Tony is also a qualified Financial Advisor having completed a Diploma in Financial Services (Financial Planning) with Finsia Education in 2006 and works closely with the Financial Management team.
Through his background in Business Advisory he is able to identify and provide structuring advice, taxation compliance and planning, management reporting services, wealth creation strategies and works closely with clients to assist in the growth of their business and personal lives. Throughout his career he has gained experience in small and medium family-based businesses as well as large listed and non-listed entities.
When he’s not in the office telling dad jokes, he can be found spending time with his family, out on the boat, or having a quiet (loud) beer watching the Dragons!
FUN FACT: Tony is afraid of heights and had to get his son to put the Christmas lights up!
Justin Van Haren
Partner/ Senior Financial Advisor/ JP
Justin has been in the financial services industry since 2000, gaining his Diploma of Financial Planning from Deakin University. He has extensive experience in wealth creation strategies, risk protection, both personal and business, and superannuation and retirement strategies. Justin left the big banks and joined the TJL team because we are a localised family business with an environment suited to providing better service, ongoing relationships and most importantly, better outcomes for our clients though truly holistic financial advice.
In his spare time Justin can be found kicking the ball around with his 4 young kids, barracking for Manly and eating anything in sight!
FUN FACT: Justin was the tallest in his class in year 4… it all went down hill from there!
Jackie is a Partner of the firm and as a Fellow member of the Institute of Professional Accountants, maintains a high level of professional development.
She has worked in the industry for 23 years, specialises in computer accounting and is now a Xero Certified Advisor. As a tax manager, she oversees Income Tax and GST related matters and is a Registered Tax Agent.
Jackie’s spare time is divided between assisting her husband in their local manufacturing company and raising two fantastic teenagers.
FUN FACT: Jackie has zero sense of direction, continuously getting lost in all but the most familiar places!
Senior Insurance Broker
Shaun Davison has recently joined as a Partner in TJL Insurance Group. With over 20 years insurance industry experience in various roles and holding a Diploma in Financial Services (Broking) he enjoys the challenge of managing client’s insurance needs. Shaun relocated to Forster in early 2013 and is married with a young family. His wife was born and raised in Forster and has helped Shaun to feel like he’s almost a true local himself!
Shaun’s commitment to the area also demonstrates this with his strong involvement in local community activities.
He is an avid sportsman. He loves kicking around a ball with the Great Lakes United Football Club, swimming with the Forster Tuncurry Mudcrabs and can often be seen teeing off at Forster Tuncurry Golf Club.
FUN FACT: Shaun wore three pairs of underpants whilst running alongside the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain in 2005.
Senior Insurance Broker
Matt joined the TJL Team in 2016 to offer our clients advice in all facets of business, personal and general insurance. He has been in the industry for over 8 years! Matt has demonstrated his drive and passion by quickly working his way up the ranks in a large firm before joining TJL to spend more time at home.
In his spare time Matt enjoys cooking up a storm, spear fishing and having a yarn with his friends and family.
FUN FACT: Matt is a fully qualified chef and has worked in many big name restaurants in Sydney!
Sharon has worked in the practice since July 2001 and specalised in assisting clients with all of their accounting needs including computer accounting, preparation of Business Activity Statements and Payroll Obligations. Sharon is also responsible for the preparation of Financial Statements and Tax Returns for Individuals, Partnerships, Companies, Trusts and Self Managed Super Funds.
You might spot Sharon roaming around in her van. She loves traveling and spending time with her gorgeous grandsons.
FUN FACT: Sharon intends to live forever – so far so good!
Todd completed his Bachelor of Commerce in 2013 from the University of Newcastle and is currently undertaking the Chartered Accountants program. He enjoys all the different facets of accounting. He has recently moved back to the area and loves the idea of working with businesses to help them grow and improve. Todd has a variety of skills including cloud-based software, financial statements and cash-flows.
In his spare time he is an avid sports fan and loves to watch most sports, whilst also enjoying time out and about with his wife, family and friends.
FUN FACT: Todd underwent 3 full knee reconstructions by the age 25 and looks forward to not being able to walk when he is 50!
Sachin has over 10 years experience in the accounting profession and has completed his CPA. He has worked in various industries and has extensive knowledge in cloud accounting packages such as MYOB, XERO, QuickBooks, Eralink and more!
Outside of work you can find Sachin having a fish and a laugh with his friends and family.

Lynn has worked in the Practice for many years. Lynn assists clients with a variety of accounting needs including computer accounting, preparation of Business Activity Statements and Payroll Obligations. Lynn is also responsible for the preparation of Financial Statements and Tax Returns for Individuals, Partnerships, Companies, Trusts and Self Managed Super Funds.
Lynn has a bit of a green thumb and loves getting out in the garden.

Jessica has a Certificate III in Financial Accounting and is currently completing a Bachelor of Business (Accounting). Jessica is responsible for the preparation of Activity Statements, Tax Returns, Bookkeeping, Computer Accounting and Management Accounts Preparation She is also a XERO Certified Advisor.
Outside of the TJL walls, Jess can be found spending time with her family, going to the beach and cooking up a storm!
FUN FACT: Jess has been swimming with sharks when she was younger and had no fear!! You won’t find her doing that now.
Currina is new to the team at TJL and is working as a full time trainee accountant at the Taree office. She has two years experience working in accountancy practices and is currently studying by correspondance for her Bachelor of Business (Accounting). She has undertaken accredited Xero Training and is now a Certified Xero Advisor.
Currina likes to take time away from her work and studies and gets outdoors as much as possible!
FUN FACT: Currina has met Oscar winning British actor Benedict Cumberbatch! Best known for BBCs Sherlock.
Josh joined the TJL family in 2014. He completed his HSC with excellent results at Taree High and was Dux! He is currently completing his Bachelor of Accounting degree part time through Charles Sturt University.
Josh is excited to gain first-hand experience in the industry from the best! Outside of studying, Josh enjoys playing tennis and squash. He also loves spending time with his family and friends.
FUN FACT: Joshua speaks Spanish
Over the past 5 years, whilst raising their 2 daughters, Haley has been focusing on bookkeeping and payroll for small to large businesses on a part time basis and has completed her Bookkeeping Certificate IV in 2014. She brings a combination of customer service, business management, bookkeeping and payroll experience to our team.
Haley enjoys time with her husband and running around after their 2 young daughters. She enjoys getting out and about with family and friends exploring this beautiful town of Forster!
FUN FACT: Haley is starting tap dancing next year!
Lara worked in Advertising as an Account Manager/Director in Sydney from 1997, before leaving to have a family in 2004. Since moving to Forster in 2012, Lara has returned to a career she enjoys as the Manager of Marketing and Advertising for TJL. She’s also on hand to help clients with their marketing plans.
Lara is busy running around with kids activities and loves spending time together as a family!
FUN FACT: Lara’s Dad was a Socceroo in the 1974 World Cup. Sadly, his soccer skills weren’t passed on to her!
Financial Advisor/ Client Services Manager
Cheryl commenced working in the Financial Services industry in 1992 as a bank teller with a major Australian Bank. She has since gone on to experience many facets of the industry including Transactional Retail Banking, Finance and Mortgage Broking, Training and Development, Personal Insurance Services and Accounts Management. She holds a Diploma in Financial Planning and continues per professional development on an annual basis. She has been involved in numerous industries and has the first hand experience to be able to understand her customers needs and work closely with them to achieve desired outcomes in both the short and long term.

Client Services Officer
Melinda has worked in the Banking & Finance Industry for over 17 years with strong expertise in Mortgage Writing and Customer Service. Melinda loves working with people and has a great rapport with customers and colleagues. She gets great satisfaction in helping customers achieve their goals.
Melinda has been in the area since 1988 and loves exploring new places with her adorable family.
FUN FACT: Mel is the office crazy cat lady, having 3 currently. Her husband has threatened to leave if any more turn up!
Financial Planning & Marketing Assistant
Brandon joined the TJL team late 2016 after branching away from 8 years in the financial industry and a random Science degree from the University of Alberta. Since joining the team she assists both our Marketing and Financial Planning Team.
She escaped the long snowy winters of Canada 9 years ago and moved to Forster/Tuncurry with her now husband and 2 beautiful children. She loves being active and outside, but only when its warm. Somehow she gets cold in a hot shower (no wonder she left Canada!)
FUN FACT: Brandon once went to the Canadian Music Awards and Keith Urban commented on how much he liked her name.
Personal Assistant to Tony Lumtin
Megan Joined TJL in 2010, originally as Reception and Admin Assistant in the Engadine Office. She has since moved from that role to become Personal Assistant to Tony. She is primarily based in Sydney and travels once a month to the Taree and Forster offices.
She loves spending as much time with her gorgeous children and can’t get enough Chiko Rolls!
FUN FACT: Megan doesn’t eat any fruit!
Office Manager / JP
Jessica is the Office Manager and has several years experience in customer service. She has completed her Diploma of Business Management and enjoys learning new skills and teaching others!
Jessica enjoys spending her spare time with her husband and dogs Rocko and Titan, as well as playing golf, soccer and splashing around on the jet ski in the glorious Wallis Lake!
FUN FACT: Jess is an adrenaline junkie! She loves rollercoasters and went to America for three weeks visiting all of the amusement parks!
Rachael has many years experience in Customer Service and joined the TJL family in 2013. She loves interacting with clients and her work colleagues and enjoys everything her job entails.
Rachael spends most of her spare time running around after her young family and socialising with family and friends.
FUN FACT: Rachael is deathly afraid of creepy crawlies!
Rosemary has many years’ experience in Customer Service and Office Administration. For the past 12+ years Rosemary has greeted clients from the reception desk in Taree and is the friendly voice on the end of the phone. Rosemary is also responsible for ensuring that your tax return and BAS are lodged on time!
You might spot Rosemary having a coffee on the beautiful shores of Blackhead Beach.
FUN FACT: Rosemary is a qualified florist and still enjoys creating wedding bouquets for family and friends.
Customer Service Coordinator
Sharyn has been with the firm since 2008. Sharyn is responsible for office administration and is a support person for all accountants in the firm. She is our client services officer, being your first point of contact with the firm.
Sharyn enjoys spending time with her friends and family and having a good laugh. Opposed to what her photo suggests, she is not very good at tubing!
FUN FACT: Sharyn has an extreme phobia of snakes!
Bopha brings to our firm more than 20 years experience in Business Administration. Her exceptional organisation skills, time management and coordination specialities make her a valuable member of our TJL Insurance team. She provides essential administration support to our team and clients.
Bopha has certificate IV in Business Administration and Training & Assessment. Bopha loves spending her spare time with her husband and two beautiful daughters. You might catch her running every morning, or shopping up a storm!
FUN FACT: Due to her shopping habit, Bopha has been banned from Pitt St Mall by her husband and hasn’t been back in 7 years!
Emma is one of the original staff members of TJL! Emma has worked with Tony for many years, being his assistant at his previous practice and moving with him when he opened up on his own. Emma is responsible for accounts and compliance in the firm.
Emma works Tuesdays and Thursdays and spends the rest of her time chasing after her young family.
FUN FACT: Emma was selected in 1997 for a scholarship to represent Australia in Ballroom Dancing at Blackpool, United Kingdom.
Narelle has recently joined the Accounting team at the Forster office. With an Associate Diploma in Business (Accounting) and an Advanced Diploma in Business Management and 30 years experience in the corporate sector, she is now thrilled to be helping local businesses and individuals with their Accounting and Taxation needs.
In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, camping and attending music festivals (sometimes combining all three).
FUN FACT: Narelle once had a bright pink Mohawk.
Lucas joined the TJL Team, following the completion of his HSC last year as Taree High’s School Captain. Lucas currently works two jobs, Crew Training at Maccas and crunching numbers as a trainee accountant at TJL, all whilst, completing his Bachelor of Accounting degree. Lucas is loving the opportunity to get first hand experience whilst studying!
In his free time (which is limited) Lucas enjoys playing for the Taree Wildcats Premier-League side and hanging with the friends and family!
Fun Fact: Lucas got the opportunity to play against the A-League Newcastle Jets team in front of nearly five thousand people, and competed at the Australian National Soccer Titles, twice!
Audit & Assurance Manager
Damian recently joined the team at TJL to manage the newly established Audit and Assurance division of the firm. Damian has extensive background in both public practice and in the corporate world. Damian spent 10 years in Senior Management roles in the not for profit and aged care sectors. Damian likes to take a holistic approach to assisting his clients getting to know them personally and understanding how their businesses operate to provide relevant advice and support. In conjunction with his management and corporate governance experience, Damian is also a Certified Practicing Accounting (CPA), holds a Public Practice Certificate, is Registered Tax Agent and Registered Company Auditor / Registered SMSF Auditor and has a Diploma of Financial Planning.
When Damian is not at work he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children on the water, fishing and enjoying water sports with family and friends. Damian and his family also enjoy travelling in their caravan exploring new towns and places to stay.
Fun Fact: Although tone deaf, Damian likes listening and singing along to 80’s music in the office.
Daryl Goodhue is a CPA with over 20 years experience in the accounting profession working along with small and medium businesses. His core responsibilities and passion is taxation, planning & advisory and self managed superannuation fund (SMSF) advice and compliance.
Outside of the office Daryl can be found helping out with the SES.
FUN FACT: Daryl escaped from kindy when he was 4 years old and evaded police and schools for the whole day.
